Reentry & Recovery

The Reentry & Recovery department was established in June 2019 to create and maintain community and tribal resources for recovery and justice-involved individuals. The department is currently developing transitional housing programs that are anticipated to open in January 2021:

Reentry & Recovery programs will provide sober and supportive transitional housing for citizens returning from incarceration, cultural and peer-supported reentry and recovery programming, employment and training opportunities, and intensive case management specifically for participants.

The department will work closely with the Tribal Court and other tribal justice system partners to ensure cohesion in program development and restorative justice practices.

Eligibility Requirements

Currently incarcerated and being released within six (6) months to Juneau.

Community Served

Juneau (those being released from incarceration in other communities may apply, but at this time housing in only available in Juneau).

Application Process

  • Complete and submit application,
  • Write and submit an essay,
  • Participate in interview, and
  • Receive a recommendation from the Department of Corrections
